EMT-B: Qualified individual must show competency in assessment of patient, handling emergencies using Basic Life Support (BLS) equipment and techniques. Must be able to perform CPR, control bleeding, supply non-invasive treatment of hypoperfusion, stabilize/immobilize injured bones and the spine, manage environmental emergencies and emergency childbirth. Must be able to use semi-automatic defibrillator and administer emergency medications as described in state and local protocols.

AEMT-Intermediate: Qualified individual must show competency in all EMT-B skills and equipment usage. Must be able to supply Advanced Life Support (ALS) using intravenous therapy, defibrillator and advanced airway adjuncts to control the airway in case of respiratory and cardiac arrest.

AEMT-CC: Qualified individual must show competency in all EMT-B skills and equipment usage. Must be able to supply Advanced Life Support (ALS) using the AEMT-Intermediate skills and equipment. Must be able to administer proper medications.

EMT-Paramedic: Qualified individual must be capable of using all EMT-B and AEMT-Intermediate skills and equipment. Must be able to perform under Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) standards. Must be knowledgeable and competent in the use of a cardiac monitor/defibrillator and intravenous drugs and fluids.

Benefits and Incentives

Medical & Dental Insurance: Full-time employees can obtain medical and dental insurance for just the employee, employee and spouse, employee and child or an entire family. BVES will cover 80% of the total cost for the medical and dental policy for the first five (5) years of employment. Following five (5) years of employment at BVES, the company will cover 90% of the total costs of medical and dental insurance. After ten (10) years of full-time employment with BVES, the company will cover 100% of the total costs for medical and dental insurance.

PTO: Full-time employees are eligible for PTO based on hours worked per week and years of service.

403B Retirement Plan: All BVES employees are eligible to contribute to BVES’s 403B retirement plan. Any employee who chooses to contribute to BVES’s 403B retirement plan will be 100% vested from the start.
